Literacy at Littleton
At Littleton, we believe reading, writing and handwriting are built together, not taught in isolation. Strong phonics underpins confident reading, secure letter formation frees children to focus on their ideas, and both come together in purposeful, meaningful writing. From Nursery through to the end of Year 2, every child is supported to become a confident reader, a capable writer and a fluent, legible handwriter, whatever their starting point.
Explore how we teach each area below:
· Reading and Early Phonics – how we teach every child to read, and to love reading
· Writing – how we build confident, purposeful writers through high-quality books
