Church of England Status
What is a Church of England School?
Our Christian Foundation
Littleton C of E Nursery and Infant School is proud of its foundation as a Church of England school. We are part of a long tradition of education provided by the Church of England that dates back more than 200 years.
As a Church of England school, we have a distinctive Christian ethos that shapes our values and provides a framework for how we operate as a community. Our Christian values permeate all aspects of school life, creating a nurturing environment where every child is valued as a unique individual created in the image of God.
Inclusive Education
While we maintain a Christian character, we warmly welcome children and families from all faiths, no faiths and all cultural backgrounds. We believe that diversity enriches our school community and helps children develop respect and understanding for different beliefs and traditions.
The Christian foundation of our school provides a framework of values. We aim to nurture spirituality in all our pupils, helping them develop their own beliefs while learning about and respecting the beliefs of others.
The London Diocesan Board for Schools (LDBS)
Our school is supported by the London Diocesan Board for Schools (LDBS), which oversees Church of England schools across the Diocese of London. The LDBS provides guidance and support to help us maintain our distinctive Christian ethos while delivering excellent education.
