Littleton Explorers Nursery Shepperton

We are a small nurturing nursery and school community, with high aspirations for all our children, both academically and pastorally.

As a small school and nursery we are able to build strong relationships with parents and carers, working in partnership to give each child the best start to their learning journey.

Our variety of inside and outside areas provide children with an exciting and stimulating nursery where they can be focused and determined, creative and explorative while being physically active. While our children enjoy exploratory learning through play that is supported by skilled and nurturing support, they are growing in their self-esteem, confidence, resilience, learning capacity, enthusiasm and emotional well-being. The nursery children benefit from access to the schools’ spacious facilities while feeling safe and secure in their own self-enclosed nursery areas.

Our nursery staff benefit from having access to excellent professional development opportunities because they are part of our school community that strives for excellence, in all we do.

On this page, you will find information about our nursery and a brochure that you can download. If you have any more questions, or would like to book a tour, please call the office office on 01932 563271 or contact us.

The nursery has a separate and secure entrance. It is light and airy and set out for unrestricted explorative play. Many of our play and learning resources are made from natural materials to enhance the children’s sensory play and stimulate their natural curiosity.

The secure outside classroom is accessible from the nursery room. The children can move freely between the inside and outside; the outside space is an extension of the nursery room offering the same rich and stimulating play.

MINI WOODLAND The children have the enriching benefit of connecting with nature through exploring trees, shrubs and bugs.

FOREST SCHOOL We also have a fully qualified Forest School Teacher who leads our Forest School sessions. There may be a small cost attached to this session in order to provide additional staff.

As part of the session children get to enjoy the school playground for moving in bigger ways. In the playground the children will access our bikes, balls, trim trail and large play equipment, increasing their opportunity to develop their core balance and coordination. The children enjoy having exclusive time in the playground whilst the older children are in their classrooms.

The cloakroom is adjacent to the nursery room so that children can use the toilet, wash their hands and access their belongings easily.

Children can use the facilities independently as soon as they are ready to and while they grow in this, they will be given all the support that they need.

Our large spacious school hall is available for the children to use for music and movement; this is especially beneficial to the children on rainy days.

My son absolutely loved nursery from day one and has always been happy to go in. The staff are amazing and extremely caring and nurturing.
They really focus on independence and encourage the children to become resilient learners and to learn a good growth mind set. My son has come on in leaps and bounds and his speech which was poor has improved beyond everyone’s expectations.
I highly recommend Littleton Explorers to anyone.
We felt really at ease leaving my son, the staff made him feel comfortable on his first day. He couldn’t wait to go back.
My son always comes home enthusiastic, I’ve really noticed a big change in his behaviour, learning and communication. I am very pleased with Littleton Explorers.
